Just as I was to the point in a race where you know you should be feeling like your legs want to slow down, your breathing patterns begin to toughen and you just wish it could get easier, it did! Instead of feeling like I wanted to slow, I wanted and knew that I could push harder than ever before. I was able to keep my pace, breathe deeper and use every ounce of oxygen that my body was giving me to the fullest extent…I was getting stronger and pushing harder.
Now, I know that over the course of the busy Arnold Classic Weekend (and all it’s festivities), running a race that final day my body would be exhausted. (Not to mention from being 5 months post baby.) Instead of wanting to ease off a bit, I was elated that I was able to recover from each leg turnover like never before. Not that I am not the firmest believer in HMB but it was not until this moment in time, during a 5K race that it hit me like a ton of bricks…my intensity levels have now been put to the next level thanks to the delivery of HMB to my body!

For the past two years, HMB has been a critical part of my strongman training. It has really improved my recovery, allowing me to get more quality time in the gym and on the implements. I can still wreck myself in the gym, but when I come back in for my next workout, I feel fresh and ready to roll, not beat up and worn out. I can do high rep squats one day, and completely kill my legs and glutes to the point that I have trouble walking and getting up the stairs. The next day I have just a hint of soreness, and the following day it is gone. I am hitting PRs in my strongman lifts, power lifts, and highland games throws. Boxing can be brutal on your body. From experience I can say my intense training has led to various chronic overtraining issues. About two years ago, I almost stopped boxing and working out as a result of various overtraining problems. I go to the gym everyday with very few days off. My training consists of a variety of boxing, strength and conditioning, and endurance training. During this past year I have had tremendous success with HMB. Many of my nagging injuries have disappeared. My ability to recover faster and to be free of the “old” nagging injuries makes me feel re-born! With HMB I have also noticed increased strength and endurance. I only wish I would have tried HMB sooner!

I am a soon to be 48 year old strongman competitor. I have competed in over 35 strongman events since starting this sport five years ago. I have been using HMB for over two years. HMB allows me to train harder, recover more quickly, and maintain or increase my strength level, even when cutting weight. One of the first things I noticed when I started taking HMB was that my joints felt much better a day or two after heavy strongman sessions then they did before I was taking the product. Being a Masters Track & Field athlete competing at the tender age of 37, I can truly say that some training days are tough and most other days are even tougher. As a sprinter competing in the 100 and 200 meters, daily workouts can be quite demanding. Every muscle from the neck down is being used to the fullest from start to finish. Onset muscle soreness, lactic acid buildup and fatigue; all lead to a less productive workout!
What can I say about HMB? This formula was first introduced to me by my weight lifting partner. At first he told that he was taking something that has him lifting and exercising longer than he normally is used to. “Yeah right, I thought to myself.” His next comment was that I try this new miracle formula for myself. I felt that it was just another gimmicky sugar tablet that just eats out of your wallet. Later I was fortunate enough to give HMB a try. At first a couple weeks went by using only the recommended dosage. The first thing that I did notice was that other people were commenting on a little bit of size that I had gained.

I currently take 2-4 grams of HMB daily. When I first started taking HMB, I noticed that I had really good workouts on days I took the supplement.
